- Ventilation openings prevent overheating while charging. NEXT LEVEL TIMER/CHARGE FUNCTION The integrated USB charging function ensures intelligent charging. The ports will turn off once the devices are fully charged. This protects the batteries of the devices. COOLING WITH THE LID CLOSED Aarhus is fitted with an ACTIVE air-flow system based on air-flow studies performed on Aarhus in a heat chamber. The air-flow system allows tablets to be charged safely with the lid closed. The metal plate covering the chargers is integrated into the cooling system and also serves as a cooling plate. Cool air drawn in through the vents in the lidcirculates over the iPads before continuing through the holes in the metal cooling plate to the chargers, where it exists the case. This prevents heat from the chargers from reaching the tablets. EXTRA SECURITY Even with the best ventilation system in the case itself, there is always a risk that the area around the case may become extremely hot or that the case may be accidentally covered. That is why our charging system is fitted with a heat switch that automatically switches the charging unit off when the temperature is too high.
